Moonlight allows users to pick resolutions to stream that aren't on that officially supported list, but these will cause GeForce Experience to set the host PC resolution to 720p when streaming starts. Which brings me to the main topic: I basically feel like I should just build a 4K Steam Link. GeForce Experience only officially supports 720p, 1080p, and 4K streaming resolutions. If there was a 4K Steam Link, I'd be set. I have a Steam Link, and everything works wonderfully (PS button, streaming is great at 1080P/60), but the Steam Link obviously doesn't output 4K. Nvidia's "Gamestream" is ok, but I don't like being locked out of the Steam interface if I want to change I have an Nvidia shield, but I hate not being able to use the PS button on my Dualshock 4 with the both Steam Link App and Steam streaming through Nvidia's Gamestream function (the PS button acts as the home button and just sends me back to the main Shield TV screen). HEVC offers x264-equivalent image quality at a lower bitrate or superior compression at an equivalent bitrate. I'm just not sure what to do in terms of a 4K streaming method to my TV.
